About

Hello! My name is Ryan Ing, and I am a PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh.

The broad aim of my research is to contribute to our understanding of how the flow of the Greenland Ice Sheet is responding to changes in the climate. To do this I use a combination of remote sensing, fieldwork and model data.

So far this has entailed, investigating the impact of increasingly frequent “late-season” melt events on the flow of the ice sheet, which you can read about here.

Outside of my PhD, I like spending most of my time in the mountains, hiking, climbing, skiing and painting
